welcome NOT SELF ~ BUT SERVICE

Principal John McGowana word from Principal John McGowan

Since opening in 1925 with a total student roll of 16, the school has grown considerably. The student roll at the end of 2010 is expected to be 700 in this decile 10 (high socio-economic) school. Campbells Bay caters for students between the ages of 5 - 11 who live within the school's home zone. Given the pressure of enrolments on the school, the enrolment scheme ensures that only students who live within the home zone at the date of commencement can attend Campbells Bay School.

As you will see as you traverse this website, the school is fortunate to have many purpose-built facilities such as a newly opened library and ICT room along with a performing arts centre. The school also has an art room, a large and recently renovated hall, a recently refurbished solar heated swimming pool, plenty of hard-court space and large fields along with a unique Community Forest: a large area of regenerating native flora that was reopened as part of the school's 75th anniversary celebrations in 2000.

Campbells Bay School from above

Of course, a school is much more than property. At the heart of the school are people. The Campbells Bay School community is a vibrant, dynamic and supportive one; examples of this can be found in the talented Board of Trustees (the governing authority of the school), the Parent Teacher Association (that raised over $40,000 for the school in 2009), the highly professional staff and the 'jewel in the crown', our wonderful students. Our wonderful school community has not only gained great facilities for the school, it has also been responsible for the excellent teaching programmes which allow our students to achieve so very well.

I hope you enjoy browsing our website. I hope you enjoy Campbells Bay School even more!

CBS STAFF for 2010

CBS Former Students' Reunion - Labour Weekend 23-25 Oct 2010

A group of former students have got together to organise a reunion. The target group is those who were at the school prior to CBS losing its Form 1 and 2 status, essentially those prior to 1960. Rationale - too many of us will not make the next reunion which is most likely to be the Centenary in 2025. We are surprised and saddened by the numbers who have already passed on. For more information, e-mail Les Sweetman.

*If younger ones wish to join in they are welcome, but please let us know, and do your own work in chasing up your peers!*
