Miniball (Basketball)

Miniball (Basketball)

Miniball is a junior version of basketball and is available to both boys and girls in years one through to year six.

Year 1&2

We have two different competitions that our year junior school miniball players can participate in. A year 1&2 team plays in the Junior Breakers FUNdamental league run by The Junior Breakers on a Wednesday afternoon and a year 2 only team that plays in the league run by Harbour Basketball on a Tuesday afternoon.

The Breakers League

Focuses on providing the opportunity to give junior basketball a go in a fun and nurturing environment. Games include a warm up that encourages the kids to work on fundamental skills, along with some basic rules of their league. Coaches are supplied by the Breakers for this warm up which is about 10 minutes long. A game is then played against an opposition team. Games are approximately 10 minute halves and teams play 5 V 5.

The competition is run as a semester which is made up of both term one and two. When you sign up you are committing yourself to the team for the whole semester. (Term one and two)

Venue: Breakers Training Venue, Atlas Place, Mairangi Bay.

DatesSemester one starts on Wednesday 22 February to Wednesday 5 July. No play school holidays.

Time: Monday afternoons between 3:30pm and 6:50pm. Your team will be allocated one game each Monday. Game times start at 3:30pm, 4:05pm, 4:40pm, 5:15pm, 5:50pm and 6:25pm.
