Dear CBS whanau,
We are excited to share with you that we have appointed a new Principal for our school: Bevan Verryt.

Following a rigorous recruitment process with four exceptional candidates, the Board unanimously agreed that Bevan stood out as having the skills, passion, motivation and personality to lead our school into a successful future.
Bevan joins us from his fifth year as Principal at Birkenhead Primary, where he has spearheaded some important changes and achievements including impressive improved learning statistics post-Covid, a highly engaged school community and a beautifully presented environment for learning.
Most importantly we believe Bevan is the right fit for our school and we know he is as excited as we are for you all to meet him and experience his boundless energy and dedication to community and holistic education. In his spare time Bevan can be found racing cars, waterskiing, playing football and beautifying the school gardens.
We hope you’ll join us in giving Bevan the warmest of welcomes when he starts on 29th May (Term 2, Week 6). He’ll see you at the busbay!
Acting Principal
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Deputy Principal Patricia Meder who has agreed to step up into temporary Principal duties to fill the gap when Rachael Taylor leaves us at the end of Term One. We are in the safest of hands with Patricia who knows the students and school operations inside out and will ensure everything runs smoothly and that we enjoy a seamless handover process. This temporary appointment will take place from the beginning of Term 2.
