New Deputy Principal Appointment
Kia ora koutou katoa,
It is a delight to announce the successful appointment of our new Deputy Principal, Melissa Grant. She will join the senior leadership team alongside Christie Birkhead and Patricia Meder. We had a very strong field of applicants, and this made for an excellent position for the school in order to make this important appointment.
Melissa joins us from Takapuna Primary School. She has an extensive education career that includes senior leadership, teaching and leading across all year levels, board experience and proven curriculum and pedagogical leadership that enhances outcomes for all students.
Melissa is full of energy and has a clear passion for education and the students and staff she works with. She is committed to her own development, recently completing her Post-Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership. She is ready to transfer this wealth of experience and knowledge to a new context and join Campbells Bay School, leading Year 5 and 6 initially. We know she will bring many strengths to the leadership team and we are excited for her to join our CBS community.
As Melissa is currently in key roles at Takapuna Primary School, we expect her to commence this position early term three.

Camp Carey Year 6
Why camp was amazing…
On behalf of all the Year 6 students I would like to say that at Camp Carey, we had loads of fun! We did many activities like the flying fox, rock climbing and kayaking – heaps of enjoyment all day long!
A big shout out to all the parents who helped out, you were all amazing and made the whole experience even better.
Unlike other camps, we had a lot more sleep and energy to do the outstanding activities. The food was delicious and yummy. We all said that if we could, we would go there again! It was the experience of a lifetime (Varvara, Room 6Y).
