To the following students who have started at Campbells Bay School

Red Nose Day
Red nose day is this Friday 31 July 2020 and this year Campbells Bay School is going to have a Mufti Day to help raise money.
The money raised will go to Cure Kids, a charity which raises money for research on children’s health.
For this mufti day, the students are asked to wear as much red as possible (without having to go out and buy new items). The donation will be a gold coin. Hopefully, we will be able to provide more information on where to get red noses for this day.
Any questions, email me on [email protected]

Rhythm Interactive Show – Junior School
Today we had special visitors in for the Junior School, to kick off the Arts Inquiry. The children had so much fun at the show learning different beats and rhythms!
Look at the Year 2’s having a go! John and Thomas had them all beating, singing and smiling.
Reminder that the school will be closed on Friday 21 August for our ‘Teacher Only Day – Professional Development’.
Scouts and Cubs Announcement
On Monday 3 August, our organisation is celebrating our annual World Scout Scarf Day. This is an international day of celebration for past and present Scouts from all around the world. It is for all our members of all ages, from the youngest members (called Keas in New Zealand), up to oldest youth members (Venturers) and all the voluntary adult Leaders and helpers.
It is an important day for our youth, to raise awareness for our organisation, and to give our kids a chance to share with their friends and classmates, their pride in what they do and what they learn with us. Our organisation aims to teach leadership skills, teamwork and outdoor skills, to build confidence and friendships. It is especially important for many youth who do not prefer team sports, to help them build connections and confidence and physical skills in other ways. So we love our youth to be proud of themselves and our Group, how we are growing and developing together.
Members of the Sunnynook Scouts, Cubs and Keas have permission to wear their Sunnynook scarves on this day with their school uniform.
Sponsorship Opportunities for The Jungle Book
On Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 September 2020 Campbells Bay School will be producing the musical Disney Jungle Book Kids at the Bruce Mason Centre (BMC), Takapuna. I am hopeful that you will be able to support us with this major venture for our school.
In order to provide both the participants (all our year five and six students) as well as the audience with the best possible theatrical experience we require support well in advance of the income that we can obtain by way of ticket sales. Staging the production at the BMC, while enhancing the theatrical experience for both performers and the audience, comes at a very substantial cost. The cost of hiring the BMC as well as using their staff and equipment and the costs involved in training over 300 students for this major production runs into tens of thousands of dollars. While a huge amount of volunteer help will be devoted to the staging of this show, we do need to supplement our income.
We are providing you with an opportunity to support this show either with a family donation or as a company. Companies: Bronze $250. Silver $500. Gold $750. Platinum $1,000. This donation will be acknowledged in the programme for the show. Family donations: In multiples of $50. We are very well aware of the economic realities of the COVID – 19 environment. Hence, we are not making a personal approach to CBS parents who are owners of businesses as we have in this past. This is the only public statement about possible support of the show.
Please note that we are able to provide you with a receipt for any donations made to our school production which may entitle you to make a claim with the IRD for a tax rebate. Tax incentives for donations of money made by individuals, companies and Maori authorities have been greatly enhanced since 2008.
If you have any questions, please contact Karen McNair ([email protected]). Karen is our financial officer.
