Welcome Back!

What a difference a school term makes. At  the start of term two  online learning was the method of teaching. It seems like so long ago. But a distant memory. It is wonderful to start this term pretty much in the vein of business as normal with the only pre COVID difference being the increased and constant emphasis on hygiene. Hence, sanitising is still very much a feature of life at school.

This morning we welcome back to CBS Christie Birkhead, Associate Principal of Years 0 -2. Christie has been on parental leave this year and returns to work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sarah Whitaker, acting Associate Principal in terms one and two will continue to have some responsibilities as an associate principal as well and additional duties including the role of director of the year five and six school production.

We also welcome back Trina Milner, a teacher who commenced her teaching career at CBS in the early part of this century. (Sounds like ages ago!) Trina returns to the school, having taught overseas for over a decade. Trina replaces Sophie Renouf in Room 13 who is planning to teach in Dubai.

We also welcome Emily Cotterill who is working in the junior school and we formally welcomed Jo Apperly who is working in the library/learning hub alongside Joe Lanning.

It is wonderful to be full staffed as we embark on the second half of the year.

Red Nose Day

Red nose day is on Friday 31 July 2020 and this year Campbells Bay School is going to have a Mufti Day to help raise money.

The money raised will go to Cure Kids, a charity which raises money for research on children’s health.

For this mufti day, the students are asked to wear as much red as possible (without having to go out and buy new items). The donation will be a gold coin. Hopefully, we will be able to provide more information on where to get red noses for this day.

Any questions, email me on [email protected]

Plant to Taste

The Plant to Taste programme run for the Year 3 and 4 students is in desperate need of more parent volunteers to help run the programme please. I am looking for parents to help organise the kitchen and the gardens and support the students.
