2009 Mid-Bays Schools' Music & Arts Festival: 25th June

Held every two years at the Bruce Mason Centre, the festival involves students from all schools in the Mid Bays: Browns Bay, Campbells Bay, Mairangi Bay, Murrays Bay, Murrays Bay Intermediate, Pinehill, Pinehurst, St John’s (Mairangi Bay).

With over 400 students in the massed choir and many more participating in the individual school items, the festival provides a wonderful show case for the talents and enthusiasms of students from our schools. Playing to near full houses over two nights, the massed choir under the direction of Olive Leddy gave the audience a high quality choral experience, while the individual school items provided much variety and entertainment.

This year Campbells Bay used a Bee Gees' number to incorporate a number of talents on stage that included, lip synching, dance, roller skating and unicycling. The audience on both nights were suitably impressed!

Thanks also to our very own Jenny Watt (stage manager), Sarah Reid (versatile stage hand!), Sharon Knight (CBS choir trainer) and Alysha Adams (CBS choreographer for the CBS item). The next festival is scheduled for mid 2011.
