2008 year 6 graduation: 10th December

The graduation ceremony took place on the evening of 10 December to a packed school hall of Year 6 students, Board members, staff, parents and supporters.

The ceremony that is a highlight of the final year at Campbells Bay School for students and supporters alike involves the presentation of awards for achievement in the academic, artistic and sporting domains as well as for citizenship.

Some of the awards date back many years. For example, the Parr Cup for best all round boy was donated by Sir James Parr, the Minister of Education responsible for the purchase of land for Campbells Bay School. (The school opened on 31 August 1925). Other awards reflect more recent times, such as the Cup for Excellence in the Application of ICT.

The ceremony involved speeches from the chairperson of the Campbells Bay School Board of Trustees and the principal, while students reminisced on their time at Campbells Bay School with a slide show and a speech. 133 Year 6 students graduated at the ceremony that was run by Year 6 teachers: Claire Dobson (team leader), Bruce Reid, Pamela Tolich and Rob Padgett.
