2007 Mid Bays schools music & arts festival: May

In late May students from schools from Campbells Bay to Browns Bay, including Pinehurst, performed at the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna to almost 2,000 appreciative people over two evenings. The massed choir performances were interspersed with performances from individual schools.

Campbells Bay School lip-synched the well known New Zealand song 'How Bizarre' by OMC. With the theme for the festival being New Zealand music this very popular song seemed to be very appropriate. The item received a very positive response from the audience on both evenings involving, as it did: dancers, unicyclists; lip synching singers, 'air guitarists' and an 'air trumpeter, mouth organist and drummer.'

Campbells Bay School performers were trained by Jenny Watt (choir) and Alysha Thompson and Lenore Bullock (choreography). The Mid Bays Schools' Music and Arts Festival will be held again on 16 and 17 June 2009. In 2008 students in Years 5 and 6 at Campbells Bay will take part in a musical production.
